Trade in Chinese-made goods has made thousands of people millionaires. Right now, many small, medium and large firms as well as private entrepreneurs. Do you want to join their number? Read our articles on doing business with China!

With you is Denis Kuderin, an expert of the HeatherBober magazine on financial issues. I'll tell you what's good suppliers from China and how to search for them correctly, why it is important to attend thematic commercial exhibitions and whom to choose for beginners - intermediaries or manufacturers of goods.

And you will also learn what they teach at specialized master classes on business with China and where to find such classes in order to get a really high-quality and full-fledged training.

1. Suppliers from China - we are looking for reliable business partners

Thinking of starting your own business but don't know where to start? Listen to advice knowledgeable people– start by trading in Chinese goods, and then figure out what to do next.

Business with China is reliable, moderately simple and affordable, while guaranteeing a stable income (if you act reasonably and competently). It is likely that you will like this business so much that you don’t even have to re-profile the business - you will simply expand your sphere of influence and develop new markets.

Products with the familiar “Made in China” inscription in the Russian Federation account for approximately 80% of all light industry goods. A significant part of electronics, household appliances, gadgets and smartphones sold in Russian stores is made in China.

Goods from China are not the same as they were 20-25 years ago. Products have become more qualitative, aesthetic, durable. Some products cannot be distinguished at a glance from their European counterparts. However, their cost is an order of magnitude lower, which opens up excellent prospects for business.

You do not need to be an economic genius or a graduate of a trade institute to understand how everything works in the Russian-Chinese market.

The business scheme boils down to three key points:

  1. Find a supplier with the best prices in China.
  2. Buy a product and deliver it- in the Russian Federation or another CIS country.
  3. Implement at a premium- and it reaches 500-700% in many positions.

Thousands of Runet online stores that we use more and more often (according to statistics) sell mainly Chinese goods. In fact, their owners act intermediaries between ordinary buyers and mass Chinese manufacturers goods.

In the scheme presented above, all points are important, but the key stage is the first: find a supplier. The profitability of your business directly depends on the manufacturer, its prices, the quality of its products, the convenience of delivery.

Starting a business with China is not as difficult as it seems at first glance. I foresee skeptical objections: But what about customs, certificates, documents, taxes?

In fact, each of these questions is included in a long-established scheme commercial trade. If tens of thousands of entrepreneurs succeeded, then you will definitely succeed.

And remember: philistine skepticism (and not at all Customs) is the main obstacle to successful commercial activity.

Business with China is a long and well-established scheme that can bring you a decent income.

The number of products supplied from China to the markets of the CIS countries is constantly growing. A Wholesale prices still remain low. It is possible that your initial business setup costs will pay off after the first resale cycle.

I will list all the advantages of trading in Chinese products:

  • Low cost. The markup on domestic products reaches 50-60% at best. And in the case of Chinese products - 300 and even 1000% for some items.
  • Large selection of goods. Chinese companies make everything in the world - from baby diapers to the most complex electronic equipment. The choice of direction for trading is limited only by your imagination.
  • Chinese manufacturers are aimed exclusively at selling. The competition in China, with a population of one and a half billion, is colossal. Every customer is dear to sellers. Therefore, they are always ready to make an individual discount, provide documents, photos, videos, product descriptions.
  • Favorable terms of delivery. You will work directly with manufacturers, shipping will cost you much cheaper.

The variety of offers increases the room for commercial maneuvers. You do not want to trade in consumer goods, order exclusive goods or products of brands that are not yet represented in Russia and neighboring countries.

3. How to find suppliers from China - practical advice for beginners

There are millions of suppliers in China. The product is produced as large factories in industrial cities, and in remote villages in the provinces of Fujian, Gansu or others. The more serious the suppliers, the higher the prices (and quality). And vice versa.

Decide what is most important for you - to earn a reputation as a reliable seller of Chinese goods or to make a quick business on low-quality consumer goods and "close shop".

Tip 1. Read the information about the manufacturers on the packaging

A simple idea for those who do not trust Internet sites. Go shopping with the goods of your profile, study the information about the manufacturer on the product packaging.

Sometimes labels tell a lot of interesting things about the product itself and about the manufacturer. It is not necessary to buy a product - take photos of labels on your phone and study them at home.

If you are looking for a supplier via the Internet, carefully study its contacts, website, domain, details, registration documents and any mention of the company on the network.

Businessmen usually keep the coordinates of reliable suppliers secret. But if you show ingenuity and perseverance, you will surely succeed in finding out useful information.

As an option, play a curious buyer and get real facts about the supplier out of the manager. Or buy a product and study the information in the attached documents. Another method is to request a quality certificate from the seller or find one on the store's website.

Tip 3. Attend themed exhibitions

Thematic exhibitions are held both in China and in the CIS countries. Promising and developing companies do not spare money for promotion and search for partners: they will definitely exhibit their products at such events.

What is a good way: you have a real chance to meet a company representative in person and discuss preferential terms cooperation. Other pluses - you immediately see product samples, do not waste time on phone calls and correspondence.

Tip 4. Attend specialized workshops

The Internet is full of specialized sites for business training, but not all of them offer really high-quality, useful and professional programs. So that you do not waste time and money in vain, I suggest using an expert recommendation - Necessarily take training from Evgeny Guryev.

Among my acquaintances who trade in Chinese goods, there are people who have personally been trained in Guryev's master classes and built their business on the principles that they learned at this school.

Cooperation with Chinese suppliers and the sale of this product is already being singled out as a separate form of business in e-commerce. Many people have become millionaires thanks to competent planning and timely inclusion in this niche. On this moment only the lazy is not engaged in the resale of Chinese goods. As you know, in this country there are a huge number of factories that produce tons of products every day. It is worth noting that the quality of the work has increased significantly in recent years and today is almost as good as the original. How to find a supplier in China will be discussed in this material. Needless to say, this is not an easy task. But if a novice entrepreneur manages to find the thread and order the goods once from a good supplier, consider that the trick is in the bag.

Where to begin?

The best option start your own business in this area will be trade in goods. How to find a supplier in China? About everything in order. The practice of doing business with this country has proved that when making right action entrepreneur will receive stable high income. And for this you do not need to make a titanic effort. It is quite possible that an entrepreneur will like this area of business so much that there will be no need to re-profile the business, it will be enough to develop in this direction.

According to statistics, approximately 80% of all products that are located in our country are made in China. Electronics, gadgets, all kinds Appliances, smartphones are assembled in China. Goods from China are not what they were 20 years ago. The industry is developing at a frantic pace, and this fact cannot but affect the quality. Some products are almost impossible to distinguish from the originals, but their cost is much lower. Also developing Chinese brands, which are currently successfully competing with such giants as Samsung, LG, Sony, etc. A beginner does not need a higher economic education to figure out how this business works.

His scheme boils down to three points. First, you need to find a supplier from China directly. How to do it? There are a few effective ways which we will consider below. Secondly, you should purchase the product and deliver it to Russia or another country. And finally, thirdly, to sell products with a margin. In most cases, it fluctuates in the range of 500-700%.

Characteristic

Thousands of Russian websites and online stores sell products imported from China. The essence of their own business is reduced to mediation between manufacturers and ordinary buyers. This is a very profitable niche that needs to be occupied as soon as possible. For a business to be successful, you need to know how to find a supplier in China.

The scheme presented above is universal, where the first step is considered the most important. The profitability of the business depends on the manufacturer, the cost and quality of the manufactured products. Today, a large number of people are business meeting with Chinese suppliers and make good money. It is noteworthy that the share of products brought from there is increasing every day. At the same time, wholesale prices practically do not change, they stay at the same level. In practice, often the initial contribution to the business pays off with the first successful resale of goods.

The benefits of such a business

Before talking about how to find a supplier from China directly, it is necessary to talk about the advantages of starting your own business. The benefits include:

  1. Pricing. For a businessman main motivation is income. If domestic products are subject to a maximum markup of 70%, then Chinese goods you can wind up to 1000% depending on the product.
  2. Rich choice. and manufactures produce any product. How to find a trusted supplier of jewelry from China? First you need to monitor the market, as well as study the reviews of real people about completed transactions.
  3. Purpose - sale. The level of competition in the People's Republic of China (PRC) is unrealistically high. Sellers pay attention to everyone, because all customers are dear. In the process of communication, you can understand that they can make individual discounts, provide on demand Required documents, photo, etc.
  4. Delivery. Despite a decent distance, the goods arrive quickly, and you don’t have to pay much. If you manage to find a supplier in China without intermediaries, as many do, the delivery will cost a penny.

There are incredibly many offers of this type on the market, which opens up space for various maneuvers. In order not to trade in low-quality goods, you need to work with companies that produce exclusive goods of certain brands that have gained immense popularity around the world.

Connections

At the moment, many entrepreneurs share their successful experience on how to find a supplier of clothes from China and other goods on the Internet. Businessmen write articles, publish books on the subject. Olga Dmitrieva, who has reached great heights, says that there are several ways to purchase goods in China. Their success depends on having reliable contacts.

It is worth noting that they are easy to get if you try. At the same time, it is not necessary to personally go to China. People's Republic. After all, there will be no benefit from the presence even if there is an interpreter. IN modern society all communications are established using the Internet, it is at least cheaper and at most efficient. Sometimes personal presence only hurts. If an entrepreneur wants to cooperate with a factory, one must be prepared to increase the unit price. This is a standard procedure, when the Chinese see a foreigner in front of them, they inflate the cost by default. How to find a clothing supplier from China and what contacts are needed for this depends on the methods of purchasing the product.

Internal sites

When talking about Chinese platforms, the first thing that comes to mind is Aliexpress. Experienced entrepreneurs are not advised to contact this site to organize a business. The main reason is that it is aimed at foreigners, respectively, the prices there are inflated by default.

Then where to find clothing suppliers from China? Few people know that there are a huge number of Internet sites where prices are more reasonable. A vivid example: jeans on Aliexpress will cost 800 rubles, and on the internal platform - 100 rubles. To search for such sites, you need to translate the name of the desired product into Chinese, and search in the Baidu.com search engine. The result will pleasantly surprise you, because a huge number of platforms with excellent prices will open. The only difficulty is that the order is accepted in Chinese. But in the era of the Internet, this problem is easily solved.

At this stage, the path of goods from China to the entrepreneur is just beginning. To receive delivery to Russia, you will need an intermediary partner, since domestic Internet sites do not provide a delivery service abroad. The intermediary usually checks the goods before sending. Entrepreneurs themselves set conditions, for example, photographing things. Only after approval the parcel will go to Russia. If the item is found to be faulty or defective, it will be returned to the store.

Intermediary partner

Many are interested in how to find direct suppliers from China. This is not entirely advisable, because the prices will be much higher. It is more profitable to find an intermediary partner and place orders through internal sites. There are two ways to do this: contact specialized company or independently find a person who agrees to perform intermediary functions. In the first case, it is enough just to send a link to a Chinese site, the company will check the product for defects and, if no problems are found, will send it to our country. Delivery takes about a week and a half, and its cost is about 10% of the purchase.

The second option is more problematic. However, now in China there are active Russian-speaking people who are ready to help for a certain fee. The Eastern Hemisphere and Chinese Compote forums will help you find the right person. The advantages of an intermediary include not only receiving and checking the goods, but also personal transportation as luggage if the order is not very large. This practice is already quite widespread. Especially if the buyer urgently needs the goods, this can be arranged through luggage.

Wholesale markets in China

How to find a wholesale supplier in China? Depending on the quantity needed, markets with good prices and a rich assortment are recommended, such as Jun Shang Ba Lu and Hui Mei. Do not believe the stereotype that goods in the markets inadequate quality. Actually there is a great product. When choosing, you can also rely on an intermediary.

I must say that a huge number of former compatriots trade in the markets. They actively develop their business by starting a page on the Internet and opening a point in a place with a large crowd of people. The WeChat app is especially popular in China. In terms of functionality, this is an analogue of our WhatsApp. Through this application, suppliers from the markets are mainly traded. The search must be provided to an intermediary who will find the contacts of the best sellers. It is worth noting that one contact will cost about 600 rubles.

Mobile app WeChat is actively developing, many Russians have tied their bank cards to make it convenient for compatriots to pay for wholesale from China. How to find a supplier that will meet all requirements? It is much more important to find a good intermediary, because he will establish contacts with sellers. It is here that you need to throw all your strength.

Factories

Where can I find a supplier from China? It must be said that the best prices will always be in Chinese factories. However, making an order from there is not at all easy, as it might seem at first glance. Factories trade only in large wholesale, from 1000 units or 100 kilograms of goods. To purchase products, you need to hire a representative, preferably a Chinese, to agree on a price and delivery. It is not possible for a novice businessman to work with a factory. Firstly, to conclude an agreement, an obligatory step is to draw up documentation through a foreign trade participant ( foreign economic activity). Secondly, in order to monitor the quality of the order, you need to have your own employee in China, and he will act on behalf of the representative.

As already noted, it is rather problematic to start cooperation with factories. The question involuntarily arises: how to find a reliable supplier in China? We discussed this in more detail in the previous section. People mistakenly believe that representatives of factories and industries work on Alibaba.com. In most cases, these are resellers who are engaged in fraud.

To forge business relationship with the factory, it is recommended to act through an intermediary company. She takes charge of how to find a supplier from China who will provide quality goods. Employees of the company will take responsibility for paperwork, which will greatly facilitate the work of the entrepreneur. The cost of their services fluctuates around 5% of the cost of goods. But intermediaries usually bring down the price to the lowest possible, and take responsibility for many risks.

Risks

Of course, when working with people, it is worth considering the human factor. Let's be frank, it is impossible to reduce risks to zero, we should not have illusions about this. If you yourself decide to start looking for suppliers and intermediaries, you do not need to immediately order products for all available money. First you need to test the soil, gradually increasing the volume. You should not be frank with a new person, it is better to be more careful.

The risk can be minimized by purchasing goods from trusted suppliers. A beginner will overpay for three contacts about $ 50, but he will be confident in the successful completion of the transaction. It is not possible to find a supplier from China in St. Petersburg, Moscow or any other city without intermediaries. First, you will have to spend more time and money. Secondly, it is better to overpay once and play it safe in case of force majeure.

Experienced entrepreneurs do not recommend dramatically increasing the volume of orders from one supplier and intermediary. In other words, the businessman wants to order $10,000 worth of goods. He usually works with one supplier, but for much smaller amounts. In this situation, you should pay attention to a reliable partner who works with such volumes.

To protect yourself as much as possible from all kinds of risks, you can conclude an agreement with a Russian intermediary company. The agreement will state that in the event of the arrival of goods of inadequate quality, the intermediary promises to reimburse the cost of the product in one hundred percent. Especially if you have to cooperate with factories, the principle of work must be chosen exactly like this.

Fraud

So, we talked about where to find suppliers of goods from China. But no one guarantees that a businessman will not fall for a scammer and successfully complete a deal. Special attention here it is worth paying attention to the competent drafting of the contract, and not with a one-day company. The contract is written in without fail that the customer is notified of the performance of work by the contractor in writing. This will help the entrepreneur to maintain the initially declared quality of the goods, so that in case of a defect, he can easily change the product for a similar one or return his money.

The largest number of scammers was identified when buying small electronics from small manufacturers. This is obviously a low-quality product, because it is beneficial to cooperate with China in bulk purchases. You should try to order in large quantities from reliable suppliers. Then there will be less negative, and everything (both the entrepreneur and future buyer) will be satisfied with the quality and price. If possible, it is better to cooperate only with trusted suppliers in order to avoid unpleasant situations.

Chinese sellers are notable for their cunning, they can easily hack competitors' emails and send a commercial offer. Before starting work, it is recommended to start a second mail and track the receipt of messages. Organizations that trade with other countries are required to have a license. Otherwise, you should not be surprised if the goods do not move across the border.

If there is no knowledge in the field of jurisprudence, do not regret Money in order to hire a lawyer. He will help you draw up contracts correctly and tell you about rights and obligations in an accessible way. Any new business requires a full-fledged return, a serious preparatory process. It is better for novice businessmen to visit popular forums on this topic, where they disclose information about bona fide intermediaries and sellers. Make a list, send out commercial offers and wait for a call.

In the article, we talked about how to find a supplier in China, what pitfalls exist and through which channels it is better to place an order. It is worth noting that the business of reselling things from China is by far the most in demand. At the same time, starting your own business does not require large investments and professional knowledge.

“Masha, are you doing China? Can you recommend a bag manufacturer?”, “You know good manufacturer glass doors for saunas?”, “Where can I find a direct manufacturer of Arduino boards?” - Lately I often get asked these questions. I invariably answer that I don’t know the manufacturer, but I can help find it. In order not to repeat my explanations again and again, I decided to write an article and give a link to those people who are interested in finding manufacturers in China. I will try to reveal in it the algorithm that has developed in my head, and give useful links for further study of the issue.

How to find a manufacturer in China?

To look for a manufacturer in China, in my opinion, there are three ways.

First way- find a company or who will do it for you. This kind of intermediary must be located in China, speak Chinese and have experience in searching for various manufacturers. The cost of services for finding 1-3 suitable manufacturers varies between 100 - 350 dollars. For this amount, you must provide contacts of the real manufacturer, as well as photos, description and cost of the product of interest. Some companies look for a manufacturer for free, on the condition that you then use other services of this company (for example, transfer the delivery organization to it).

Second way- go to China for an exhibition. There you can get acquainted with a number of manufacturers of the products you are interested in, see samples and find out prices in 1-2 days. This method is quite expensive: you will need to pay for plane tickets, hotel and . Find desired exhibition you can, for example, .

Third way– remote search and verification of the manufacturer independently. This method will be free, but will require your efforts and time. I will dwell on it in more detail.

Search for Chinese manufacturers on Alibaba

There are several large websites where Chinese companies post information about themselves and offer their products to foreign buyers. The most famous of them - www.alibaba.com. You can find almost any product there. However, there is a small nuance - not all the companies represented on the site are manufacturers (many simply resell goods). Some don't exist at all. Therefore, I proceed as follows: I find 10-20 potentially suitable manufacturers and carry out their remote verification.

To find potential manufacturers on Alibaba, you need to:

  1. Find out how your product is called in English. Please note that there may be several synonyms for which you can search desired product. It makes sense to make a list of these words. Perhaps you are interested in a specific model of equipment - also add it to the list.
  2. Enter the English names of your product in the search bar on the site. Separately, of course, drive in :)
  3. Choose 10-20 products that are most suitable for you, and, accordingly, manufacturers. Thus, you will get a list of potential suppliers of the products you are interested in. They need to be checked next...

How to check the Chinese manufacturer?

So, we settled on the fact that we have a list of 10-20 potential manufacturers found on www.alibaba.com or similar sites. However, some of them will turn out to be trading companies that resell goods, and some will turn out to be scammers. Therefore, it is necessary to make a preliminary selection of those with whom it is worth continuing to communicate. Please note that this is a preselection. When concluding a contract, you need to communicate with the manufacturer personally and go to the production site. So let's start gathering information.

Step 1. Analysis of information on the trading platform (www.alibaba.com, etc.)

Open the page of one of the found products on www.alibaba.com. Here you can find information about price, minimum order quantity and maximum volume that the company can supply. Just below the picture there are two tabs: “Product Details” and “Company Profile”. In the first one you will find general description And specifications goods. In the second - information about the company. I note right away that the information provided on the site www.alibaba.com, is not always checked, so you need to treat it with caution. However, some conclusions can still be drawn.

Our task is to find a manufacturer. Therefore, you need to pay attention to the following information:

  • Which English name company (the name is listed on the right and usually ends with“…Co., Ltd.”? – If it contains the words “import & export”, “trading”, “trade”, “international”, etc., then most likely it is a reseller.
  • What type of business (Business Type) is indicated?– Among the activities of the manufacturer, “Manufacturer” will be indicated. If only “Trading Company” is listed, then the company explicitly states that it is engaged in trading only.
  • What other goodsmain products)does the seller offer?- If the goods are unrelated, then most likely you have an intermediary in front of you.
  • What number of employees (Number Of Employees) is indicated?– Based on common sense, a manufacturing company with a large supply volume cannot have less than 50 employees.

Companies often indicate Additional information: Factory Size, Total Annual Sales Volume, Certifications, Establishment Date, etc. Use common sense when analyzing this information.

Step 2. Checking the Chinese company on the website of the local Chamber of Commerce and Industry

Information about a company that is registered in China is stored in the database of the local Chamber of Commerce and Industry (hereinafter referred to as “CCI”). If you manage to find a company there, then this is already a good sign, since the company at least exists. In addition, there is important information about authorized capital, year of foundation, legal address, types of activities of the company, etc.

To view information about a Chinese company on the CCI website, you need to do the following:

1) Find the Chinese company name. Where to look? First, it can be found on the company's Chinese website (the link to the website can be found on www.alibaba.com by clicking on “Contact Details”). Secondly, you can search for the name in a Chinese search engine www.baidu.com. At the end of the company name, there are usually the hieroglyphs 公司, which actually translate as "company". Name example: 江苏青青科技有限 公司.

2) Find the address of the company and determine in which province it is located. This needs to be done as each province has its own database of registered companies and its own CCI. For example, the company mentioned above 江苏青青科技有限 公司 located in Jiangsu province.

4) Look at the map where the factory is located. This must be an uninhabited area. Commercial buildings usually have names, while residential complexes have numbers.

5) Google contacts. Are there any unfortunate coincidences? Then add the word scam to the contacts and also look at the search engine results.

Further verification of the Chinese company

After you have made a preliminary selection, you can start communicating with Chinese companies. To get started, write them a letter in English and clarify the points you are interested in. You can get more information from communication. Reliable companies usually respond within 1 business day and have a detailed signature on the letter (with name, position and contacts).

In further communication, you can request scanned documents from the company:

Registration certificate (营业执照yíngyè zhízhào).

Export license (chūkǒu xǔkězhèng). If a factory is focused primarily on the domestic Chinese market, then it may not have an export license. In this case, she cooperates with an import-export company and will send documents to this company accordingly.

Certificates ISO quality, CE, TUV GS, RoHs, UL, Ansi, etc.

Serious manufacturing companies will send you these documents without delay.

At a later stage of communication, ask the company to send the account details and check if it belongs to the company.

Finally, write that you would like to come to China and meet them in person. Ask the company to send you an invitation for a visa. For a reliable company, this will not be a problem.

P.S. Phew… that seems to be all I wanted to write about the remote verification of the manufacturer. It turned out to be a little long, but I hope it is useful for those who are really interested in this issue. If something is wrong - write. Well, ask questions - I'll tell you what I know.

P.S.S. Finally, a few links for those who want to read other materials on this topic. I found this one useful book and this one .
