Google and ASI launched the project “Far from the capitals. From the regions with love: an inspiring Google project about talented people in the Russian outback Our official Vkontakte group

The contestants break stereotypes. For example, they surf in Kamchatka, restore and taste history, and make their cities even more beautiful.

Participant of the competition "Far from the capitals": "With the help of street art, we create a favorable environment for life and creativity in Vladivostok."

And the contestants also make films of Hollywood scale, but with a much more modest budget, produce microphones used by world rock stars, help the disadvantaged. Their ideas change lives for the better. And they are convinced that in order to become recognized and in demand, it is not at all necessary to conquer Moscow and St. Petersburg. "Far from the capitals" a large-scale project of the world's largest search engine Google with the support of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives.

Dmitry Kuznetsov, Google marketing director in Russia: “We don’t have special requirements for potential project participants, it can be any person who is active in his city, village, town. The main thing is that it is necessary for the place where he lives, to be beneficial.”

Those who are ready to discover something new away from the capitals will find a place based on maps and Google search. The finalists will be selected by a jury, which includes well-known TV presenters, artists, and businessmen.

In two weeks, dozens of regions of Russia have already been marked on the map of the “Far from the Capitals” project from Kaliningrad to Kamchatka. There are seven categories in total: tourism, craft, education, social services, sports and healthy lifestyle life, culture, modern technologies. Applications are accepted until October 3rd.

It will be super competitive. After all, each participant put his soul into his projects. Do many cities have vending machines for old things? But the authors of the Chelyabinsk project "Veshchevorot" figured out how to make waste-free production out of this, and at the same time clothe those in need. Or, for example, the village of Tygydym in the Yaroslavl region. There, Alexander and Olesya, as they say, out of the blue revived the old traditions of the village. After all, someone has forgotten what it is to take care of the housework, and young people do not know at all.

Olesya Degtyareva: “We transported ancient objects, 200-year-old barns, houses, outbuildings. We are recreating traditions. And most importantly, we find people who keep a lot of secrets, such that our children should not forget.

The jury will select the strongest entries. Then the fate of the contestants will be decided by Internet users. To vote, it is enough to enter the query "Far from the capitals" in the Google search bar. Our TV company became the media partner of the project. NTV host Vadim Takmenev also joined the jury.

NTV has its own nomination in the project. 10 bright applications from residents of Russian cities and villages will be selected. All on the same site of the project it will be possible to learn about the results.

And NTV is also launching a flash mob: let's evaluate the history of a particular project on our page in social networks with the hashtag #There is something to be proud of. The best videos will be rotated on the TV company's social networks under the heading #For a Minute. The names of the winners of the Far from Capitals project will be announced by the organizers in early November.

Is there life beyond the Moscow Ring Road? For other residents of the capital, this joke is not such a joke after all. Moscow and St. Petersburg have long turned into mini-states, living by their own laws. And many citizens are not particularly interested in what is happening in the rest of Russia. And there, meanwhile, life is full of no less colors, albeit not so intensely.

The authors of the Far from the Capitals project, launched by Google with the support of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives, set out to hang spotlights over the unique biographies of the inhabitants of the outback. People who sow wisdom and kindness in their small homeland can apply and have their stories appear on Google Maps.

“We are looking for people who care about the world around them, and who, independently or together with like-minded people, are trying to change it for the better. There are a lot of such stories outside of Moscow and St. Petersburg. With the help of the Far from the Capitals platform, we expect to make their heroes known throughout the country,” says Dmitry Kuznetsov, head of Google Russia.

In order to stir up interest in the project that started today, the organizers invited several people to become ambassadors. These are people about whom only local newspapers write, although their activities deserve coverage in the federal press.

Kostas Marsan, film director from Yakutia

Kostas' films are a tribute to the beauties of Yakutia and its inhabitants. The film "My Killer", replete with bewitching Yakut landscapes, became the first work of Russian cinema that claimed the Hollywood Golden Globe Award. Moreover, thanks to the efforts of Kostas and his colleagues, in almost every locality Cinemas appeared in the Republic of Sakha.

Felix's team is behind the creation of many beautiful things that appear on the streets of Vladivostok. Once the guys revived the walls of the capital of the Far East with talented graffiti, and now they manage a whole architectural bureau called Concrete Jungle. They not only design art objects, but also create them on their own.

Natalya Nikitina, director of the Kolomenskaya pastila museum

It was painful for Natalya to watch how the territory of Kolomenskoye Posad, once a very beautiful place, was withering. And then she came up with the idea of opening a museum here, dedicated to traditional local marshmallows. This, it is worth noting, is a rather rare dish in modern times. Having got a taste, Natalia began to open other museums related to the historical crafts of Kolomna and the fate of its inhabitants.

Denis Umutbaev, horse owner from Bashkiria

A veterinarian by training, Denis has long nurtured the idea of starting his own business and breeding horses. About a year ago, an Ufa citizen described his project on a crowdfunding platform and collected the necessary amount in a few months. Now he is successfully engaged in the revival of traditional horse breeding. There are plans to organize annual exhibitions-fairs and horse riding competitions.

Anton Morozov, creator of Surf Siberia

Anton and his friends instill the culture of surfing in Russia. In 2010, they decided to open a surf school in distant Kamchatka. It would seem a crazy idea, but only there, if we consider the territory of our country, you can learn to catch a wave all year round.

Polina Ivanova, director of the architectural group PODELNIKI

The White Tower is an architectural monument of the era of constructivism and one of the symbols of Yekaterinburg. Through the efforts of the PODELNIKI arch-group, this building has acquired new life. Together with like-minded people, she not only restored the tower, but also developed a project for its integration into urban environment. Now the White Tower is a venue for excursions and cultural events.

It is not at all necessary to live or work in the capital in order to achieve success, the organizers of the project believe. There have already been several people from different parts of Russia who prove this by their example. They have become ambassadors of the project and by their example invite as many people as possible to participate. So Denis Umutbaev revives the Bashkir breed of horses near Ufa, Kostas Marsan makes films about the nature of his native Yakutia, and Natalya Nikitina opened the Kolomenskaya Pastila Museum, the traditional taste of which was almost forgotten.

A modern director, owner of his own business, creator of street art masterpieces… What do all these people have in common? The fact that all of them can become participants in the new all-Russian project "Far from Borders" organized by the company Google and the Agency for Strategic Initiatives. The only condition is that they must make life better outside of Moscow and St. Petersburg.

ASI supports those who are looking for an opportunity to implement their ideas in business, social, cultural and scientific fields, - said CEO Agency for Strategic Initiatives Svetlana Chupsheva. - Every day number promising projects, which are created in the regions, is increasing and this is wonderful! If you yourself have not yet appeared in such projects, then you can nominate your distinguished acquaintances. You can do this until October 3 inclusive. After moderation, the application will be published on the site, and information about your project will appear on Google Maps.

We are looking for people who care about the world around them, and who, independently or together with like-minded people, are trying to change it for the better. There are a lot of such stories outside of Moscow and St. Petersburg, - the head of Google Russia Dmitry Kuznetsov is sure. - With the help of maps and Google search, we have created a platform "Far from the capitals", where hundreds of such stories will be collected. These heroes will become known throughout the country, and their example should inspire each of us.

By the way, the Russians already have several inspiring examples. The ambassadors of the project were people who managed to achieve success outside the two capitals. Among them are Denis Umutbaev, who revived the Bashkir breed of horses near Ufa, director Kostas Marsan, who glorifies the nature of his native Yakutia, and Natalya Nikitina, who opened the Kolomenskaya Pastila museum. There are hundreds, if not thousands, of examples like these in Russia. The jury, which will include musician Ilya Lagutenko, director Yegor Konchalovsky, ASI General Director Svetlana Chupsheva and businessman Fyodor Ovchinnikov, will help to choose the brightest among them.

The jury of our project will determine the main semi-finalists, - the organizers say. “Users across the country can then vote for the most interesting stories directly in Google Search. To cast your vote for the participant you like, just make a request "Far from the capitals". After that, the user will see a list of finalists, from which he can choose the most worthy.

Well, to make yourself known louder than anyone, join the flash mob and share the stories of achievements in Nizhny Novgorod with the hashtags #There is Something to Be Proud of #Google #Away From the Capitals.
