A full range of legal services is a guarantee of the success of your business. Guaranteeing Your Children's Success, David and Roxanne Swann

A statement of the fact that you have a talent for something is not a guarantee of success and a meteoric rise. No one will just come to you and offer you the career of your dreams. You have to work hard to be successful.

You must be passionate about what you are doing. If you hate the field that you have chosen for yourself, then you will be bored. In the end, you will be completely relaxed. You will not give all your best and realize your full potential. Because you don't see the point in your actions. As a result, you will lose interest, send everything to hell and start looking for new ways to express yourself. Or put your hands down.

You must be persistent and punchy. The guarantee of success comes to interested and active individuals. Develop your plan and stick to it rigorously. You can't give up halfway through or jump from one project to another, leaving behind a string of unfinished tasks. Develop self-discipline.

You must have an unshakable confidence that you will succeed.

You have to find yourself even on those days when you want to sleep until dinner after a party with friends. You need to keep believing in yourself even when the rest of the world doubts you.

Remain a humble and reserved person and never allow yourself to be lazy. You have no right to become overconfident. You cannot let your aplomb and arrogance from your own giftedness stop you from moving forward. Among other things, you can not think that you are too brilliant, which means you are allowed a little more than others. The guarantee of success is based on modesty, not self-admiration.

You must make commitments and promise yourself that you will achieve your goals. ultimate goal. Without delaying things and without postponing anything for later. You cannot in the evening search for yourself why you have wasted your morning and day.

And the guarantee of success is closely related to patience - you have to stock up on them. You will not achieve your dreams. Moreover, you may not even achieve it for months or years. Learn to be happy and content as you move forward. Even if you are moving slowly. Celebrate how you're making progress, even when you feel like you're falling behind.

Your talent is truly invaluable. However, success is guaranteed only when you know how to plow day and night. When you do not allow yourself to shy away from work out of laziness or the faint-hearted, get some rest. Otherwise, how gifted you are won't matter. Moreover, no one will even know about your talent.

In the daily grind of laundry, cleaning, cooking, and playing taxi driver, it's easy to lose sight of the importance and purpose of raising children. Now, watching the years go by at the same speed that months should have gone by, it may seem quite common question: "Is that all parents are for?"

The Lord has a “game plan” for your home: success for each of your children. Our goal is to make clear what God has made your responsibility so you can move back from frustration to action.

Keeping the goal in mind, we will teach you how to practically fulfill the God-given task. Jesus said, "...my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." The Lord never intended for stress and regret to steal the joy and fulfillment of raising children. You will learn that the Biblical way makes the burden lighter and the road brighter.

Chapter 1

Guaranteed success for your children

David

Roxanne and I are often asked, "What makes you want to teach parents how to raise obedient children?"

I always answer right away: "Even in our wildest dreams, we never planned that one day we would write a book that would help parents." When I proposed to Roxanne, we decided to wait at least five years before having children. Less than a month after our marriage, we became the pastors of our first church. Obviously, with so many new responsibilities, it makes sense to wait five years before diving into new adventures. I wanted to be a successful husband and pastor. After all, both were challenging.

Despite our plans, a few months later we found out that Roxanne was pregnant. You can imagine our surprise! (in this case, the word “shock” is more appropriate).

God was not to blame

We both thought it was unfair. We are almost- that they were angry with God as if it was His fault?! But it was not God's fault, but we.

After a few months, we realized the reality and changed our attitude of despondency and fear to expectation! Be that as it may, we did not know at that time what we already know now: we sowed rejection in our not yet born child while it was being formed in the mother's womb.

Our words, attitudes and feelings influenced his emotions. Even though we changed our negative attitude before Roxanne gave birth, it harmed the baby.

The fruit of rejection

After the birth, Jenny cried constantly for several months. We couldn't calm her down. We did everything we knew to make her comfortable, but she wouldn't stop crying.

Have you ever gone to a restaurant to enjoy a nice meal, but before being served, everyone silently asked you to leave? Everywhere we went, Jenny would start crying and we couldn't calm her down. Our nursery workers breathed a sigh of relief when the service ended because Jenny was a very big problem.

One evening Roxanne was teaching at a women's meeting at church, and I boldly agreed to babysit Jenny during her absence. Roxanne was only gone for two hours, but for me it was an eternity. Before she returned, I was ready to flush Jenny down the toilet, singing, "I was spared, thank God!"

I was upset. We were helpless.

Parents' mistake

We knew from Scripture what God said about children - that it is a blessing. But we haven't lived that promise yet. We knew that God does not lie about children. So we are doing something wrong. We made mistakes as parents.

There were times when I came home from work, Roxanne met me at the door with Jenny, because she needed to get out of the house and from Jenny for at least a few minutes.

We desperately needed help. We began to seek God for further instructions. Then we had no motive to teach parents. It never crossed our minds! We were looking for God's help because our sanity was at stake! (I'm sure you've seen a bumper sticker on a car at least once in your life: "Madness and insanity is the legacy you get from your children.")

We diligently studied the Scriptures in order to survive. Praise God that the Bible has the answers we need as parents to raise lovely children.

Like all parents, we imagined what we want our children to be. We wanted them to respect other people's feelings and property. As a pastor, we often visit our parishioners at their homes, so we don't like to call them ahead of time and warn them to put all their valuables upstairs, because our "little blessings from the Lord" could destroy what they worked hard to earn.

Howthemother people see your children?

Young couples often wonder why other church members don't invite them over. The answer is simple - their "little blessings from the Lord" are out of control, and no one wants their home to be a wreck!

Adults subconsciously reject naughty children. The sad thing is that it's not the fault of the children. Often the reason that children suffer from feelings of low self-esteem is that they have been rejected by their peers or those who were their authority.

In most cases, rejection starts with bad behavior. People don't like being around naughty kids. The thing is, none of us allow the thought of spending time with little brutes.

Corrective discipline

"Whoever spares his rod, he hates his son, and whoever loves him, he is careful to discipline him"

Proverbs 13:24 (New International Version).

After all, parents wish they had no children at all if these children were not properly brought up. Proverbs 13:24 conveys such a meaning that they even hate their child.

Our primary reason for seeking the Lord was because we wanted our children to be a blessing! We wanted to enjoy being parents; we would like Jenny and the other children we will have to behave well and respect others. We saw in other children what we liked and didn't like.

Once Roxanne and I changed, we saw a change in Jenny. The members of our church noticed a gradual change in Jenny, so that even the difference between her obedience and the obedience of their children became apparent.

They asked us: “What did you do to make such a change happen to her?” It was then that we began to tell what the Lord had so graciously revealed to us.

Our Heavenly Father Knows Best

"Blessed is the man who fears the Lord and strongly loves His commandments. His seed will be strong on earth; the generation of the upright will be blessed."

Psalm 111:1, 2

The first thing you must do to ensure your child's success is to trust that God knows best. He knows The best way raising your children. All His ways and commandments were given for our good.

God is not selfish. His attitude is not like that of a child who says, "If you don't play with my toys the way I want, I'll take them home and you won't see them again." God is love. Every command of the Lord has been given to our advantage.

"... and the Lord commanded us to do all these ordinances, so that we would fear the Lord our God, so that it would be good for us all the days, in order to save our lives, as now;"

Deuteronomy 6:24

It is for our good that God has placed His will in the commandments. God didn't give us the Ten Suggestions. He gave us the Ten Commandments.

If your children were playing with toys on the main street of the city, where cars were speeding a foot away from them, you would not just stick your head through the door and tell them to get out of there. You, using all your emotions and vague terminology, would command to get out of there! Why? Because you are selfish and you want to practice parental authority? Yes, of course not!

You command them to do so because their lives are in danger. The reason you demand obedience is because their lives are at stake. You demand obedience because you want to keep them alive. You are doing this because you love them!

Pleasure in God's Commandments

These are the reasons why God put His will and ways in an imperative form.

The blessings described in Psalm 111 will be fulfilled in our lives when we delight in and delight in God's commandments.

It is time for the Church to stop looking at God's ways the wrong way. Too often people think that God limits them when He commands, "Do not commit adultery." Many interpret this commandment thus: "Do not rejoice in any way."

No, never! God knows that by rebelling against His commandments, by rejecting them, we will experience inevitable death, just like those children who play on the main street of the city. They will inevitably be hit by a car if they do not listen to their mother's voice.

The 18 wheeler truck of life called "sin" will level us to the ground if we don't obey the voice of God. Change your attitude towards God's commandments. Now ask the Lord for forgiveness for the wrong attitude to his commandments. Ask Him to give you great pleasure in His ways.

You should have more fun walking in God's ways than in the way you raise your children or the way your parents raised you. You are predestined to raise your children the same way your parents raised you, unless you renew your mind with the word of God.

Do you want to change? Do you want to raise your children in God's prescribed way? Do you want to think and act better, more high level than before? Trust me—our Heavenly Father knows best!

What does God want to do with your children?

"Punish your son, and he will give you peace and bring joy to your soul."

Proverbs 29:17

As I mentioned before, when we were seeking God's help, our greatest desire in regards to raising children was that Jenny should be a pleasure to be around. This scripture promises that our children will give us rest. We were desperate for peace.

Many nights Jenny went to sleep crying. Many nights I myself wanted to cry, falling asleep. Jenny drove us crazy. At that moment, we could not even imagine that it would bring pleasure to our soul. We just wanted to relax.

God has a better plan for your child

Even months and years before we expressed a desire to know God's ways of raising children, the Lord showed us His plan for our offspring. Our motive was simply to have an obedient, well-behaved child. God had a much bigger plan. His ways were much higher than our ways.

He said in Psalm 111:2 that our seed will be powerful, strong, excellent, dominating all the earth. Notice that the Bible doesn't say it will be mighty when it goes to heaven, but it will be mighty here on earth right now. We don't need to be powerful in heaven, because there will be no enemies, battles, temptations. The Lord wants your children to be powerful here and now!

"Who is the man who fears the Lord? He will show him the way to choose.

His soul will be in goodness, and his seed will inherit the earth."

Psalm 24:12,13.

Notice that this person fears and respects the Lord. He respects God's ways and plan to the extent that he cooperates with God through obedience. And his seed shall inherit the earth.

"To bring substantial good to those who love me."

Proverbs 8:21.

The words "essential good" literally mean "real estate." God has always wanted His people to "possess the earth." The Lord drove the Gentiles out of the Promised Land so that His people would control it.

Throughout human history, God has consistently given possession of vast possessions to His people for His glory. If we own the land, we can control what happens there.
