My future business Unusual ideas for the business of the future Business with a future perspective

We continue the series of articles "Business Secrets". Questions are asked by Dmitry Sobolev.

Business changes in the near future

DS: What will happen in 20-30 years in business?

FROM: Of course, it will be a post-industrial society, i.e. less and less goods will be produced. Even China, I think, will produce little, because let's finally understand that there is already an excess of goods, there are a lot of them. We don't need more goods anymore, less and less will be produced, more and more ideas will be. In any case, all successes, if you like, fortunes, and all understanding of business, will lie in the field of intellectual property, in the field of ideas, the struggle of ideas and technologies. Production will no longer even be a business, but such work.

WD: The printer is at home 3d: I wanted something - I printed it. Now engines are already printing and that's it. I absolutely agree with Oleg that the cost of ideas is already high now. Look at the companies that are built on ideas - they have already overtaken the oil industry, and collective farms, and all industries. I am absolutely sure that in 20-30 years, in the future: firstly, there will be a colossal stratification, smart people will be incredibly rich, successful and will be stars.

Now some actors, athletes, but there will be smart nerds stars, because humanity will finally say: “ Everything we have: these phones, watches, clothes, medicine, vaccines - it's all mind". All this gave knowledge, mind, these will be the coolest smart people. They will be hunted for from childhood, and naturally, life expectancy will jump by 140 years - this is with a guarantee. All these experiments are already underway, and there will be many more interesting things.

The future belongs to brilliant ideas

WD: I think that in the field of agriculture in the future, we will probably move to the fact that we will get protein from bacteria that multiply every 30 minutes, and not every six months, like some kind of soybean. You know, friends, that the biomass on Earth: plants, animals, people, 80% are microorganisms. You know that in each of us there are 10,000 species, microorganisms are the masters of the Earth. I am absolutely sure that agriculture will go into microorganisms, because the Earth will not feed everyone.

FROM: To finish, I agree with Vladimir, there will be billionaires, millionaires, rich people - it is on the brains. The first example is Zuckerberg, we have Grishin. This is just a programmer, he is a multimillionaire now, the head of the mail.ru company. Those. what we will see in 20-30 years, the business of the future is smart people, inventors. They will become rich, i.e. Justice will prevail.

INTRODUCTION

My future specialty is Business Administration. As a 2nd year student, I have already begun to study special disciplines and master the skills of a business analyst, marketer, economist, manager. My future profession is an economist, and any sector of the economy can be a field of activity, but I dream of organizing my own business. Probably, I still do not have enough professional knowledge, and yet I will try to present in this essay some idea of \u200b\u200bmy future activities. Studying the discipline "Marketing" allowed me to gain knowledge about the micro- and macro-environment factors that affect the competitive position of an enterprise, take a balanced approach to assessing the market situation, choose the right marketing strategy for doing business, etc.

The relevance of this message is determined by several aspects: firstly, the demand on the consumer market for the product to be developed; secondly, by the benefits and advantages that consumers will acquire by giving preference to the product of my business; thirdly, an attempt at an economic justification of the project indicates that any business requires a serious and balanced approach to assessing the situation.

The purpose of the essay is to demonstrate an understanding of the social significance, economic feasibility and market prospects of the problem of creating and developing a small business, and its tasks were to develop an idea and identify innovative approaches for its implementation in the consumer goods market.

MAIN PART

My future business is the production and production of toilet paper. Toilet paper is an essential product, the consumption of which is expected to be stable, which minimizes risks and is an indisputable evidence in the “yes” direction at the stage of developing this business. Even in times of crisis, enterprises producing such types of products do not experience any particular problems with their sale, since everyone always buys them. When making this decision, we proceeded from the fact that on average 1 Belarusian uses 1 roll of toilet paper per month. Now there are about 40 companies selling toilet paper on the Belarusian market. Most of them are engaged in regular resale from other countries (mainly from Russia, Ukraine, Poland). However, Belarus has enough of its own pulp - the main raw material for paper production. With the construction and launch of the Svetlogorsk Pulp and Cardboard Plant (PPM), whose products are exported to the CIS countries, the Baltic States, the European Union. This is the only enterprise in the country for the production of bleached sulphate pulp, from which corrugated cardboard, corrugated paper, filterboard, paper packaging bags, cardboard for flat layers of corrugated cardboard, honeycomb core, four-valve standard boxes of individual sizes are produced. There is no toilet paper in the assortment line, just as there are no other competitive analogues, despite the fact that their total number in the country is 9.

Thus, the market analysis showed that there are no competitive toilet paper manufacturers in the Republic of Belarus. There are no special innovations in the foreign market of manufacturers. Basically, companies simply produce standard paper that meets even small innovations that can take the enterprise to a leading position. It was this approach that was the basis for developing our own business for the production of domestic toilet paper. A convincing argument for its expediency is also the fact that by assuming at the initial stage the development of the market by only 2.6-3% (about 250,000 consumers), one can achieve a tangible economic effect and a quick payback of the business project.

As you know, the main obstacle to starting a business is the high costs at the initial stage. Let's assume that our production will be located near the Svetlogorsk CCC, and we will make the necessary approximate calculations for the implementation of a business project.

All data is given at the current exchange rate in US$ for ease of perception.

The main stages of business organization:

1) Creation of a small business enterprise, its registration.

2) Organization of production.

3) Sales organization.

Registration stage includes drafting a charter, filing an application and registration with local authorities and the tax service. To begin with, a non-residential premises with an area of approximately 100 m 2 will be found to accommodate the production area, warehouses for raw materials and finished products.

By registering on your own, you will have to spend small sums of money and some time. Leaving this issue to a specialized law firm, the costs will be about $390, but these costs will free up time for organizing the production itself. The rent of the premises itself will vary from $580.

On stage of production organization It is also important to find a suitable supplier of equipment, and it is important to take into account its location relative to the enterprise being created in order to more quickly resolve all issues related to the installation of equipment, staff training, maintenance, replacement, etc.

Toilet paper production line the minimum consists of four machines: rewinder (for rewinding raw materials into rollers of suitable size), core (for the production of cardboard cores for rolls), cut-off (for cutting long rollers of paper into rolls) and packaging.

Ideas about what kind of business will be relevant in the future are constantly changing, causing a lot of controversy and interesting assumptions. It is difficult to predict how and what will be in demand the most, so the selection of specific business ideas will most likely occur as society and the world change.

There are two ways to find and implement the best business idea of the future: to conduct large-scale research and study statistical data, analyze changes in various areas, or simply rely on your intuition, pay attention to the events taking place around you and quickly implement ideas that are relevant and relevant to the spirit and needs of the time.

The main features of the business in the future

Today, the business environment is extremely changeable and dynamic, the needs and tastes of buyers / consumers of goods / services are constantly changing, demand grows and decreases instantly, there are many ambitious projects, and competition is high. Therefore, the main thing in this case is to very sensitively understand and study the interests and needs of the potential target audience, not only finding interesting offers for it, but also managing to transform, develop, and change in time.

The main distinguishing features of the business of the future in Russia and other countries:

Areas and areas for business organization that are relevant for the coming years

Trying to understand what kind of business will be relevant in the future, it is worth considering a variety of areas and ideas. First of all, the information technology sector will continue to be in demand and profitable. This is the most promising direction. But instead of games and applications, virtual worlds, neural interfaces, various structures at the intersection of medicine and IT, production and IT, management and IT will be created.

as a sales area also has prospects, but it will go more into the Internet space. Such a business of the future can be created using the idea of network marketing, but in relation to education, the sale of information and knowledge.

You will need programs and specialists to ensure cyber security. Engineering specialties will also be relevant, but at a completely different level. Given the fact that resources are exhaustible and natural resources are limited, the best business ideas of the future will be related to the search for alternative energy sources, new ones, the creation of "smart" systems and innovative power grids, etc.

Spheres related to advertising, marketing, sales will also develop, as in the conditions of a huge number of proposals and a satiety of the market, the ability to promote an idea will be extremely highly valued.

Thinking about what kind of business is the future, one cannot help but recall service industry– it will expand and change. So, already today there is a noticeable tendency to combine several areas into one - when you can come to make-up and choose a dress there, when there is always a cafe or salon in an art school for children, where you can get a manicure while waiting, etc. Maximum time savings and multifunctionality are the main features of the model that will be in demand in the coming years.

Taking into account the acute environmental issues will need people and business ideas in this area. The lack of quality food, protecting the environment, improving the ecological situation - all this requires attention and original ideas. New professions and areas will appear in which it will be possible to implement ideas - city farming, urban ecologist, specialist in preventing and overcoming environmental disasters, etc.

Of course, it will also change medicine, therefore, a profitable business can also be organized here - molecular nutrition, genetic counseling, plastic surgery, healthy aging counseling, software design for medical equipment, etc. will be relevant. Here it is worth recalling the psychology and areas where you can organize a profitable business - resolving conflicts within the family and teams, personal brand managers, business coaching, mediation of social conflicts, etc.

Consultations will be needed analysts, a variety of crisis managers and companies that will be able to provide analytics and trend tracking services, research in finance, economics, and the transport industry with detailed forecasts and development paths.

Concrete ideas and original ideas

When thinking about how the technologies of the future will affect human life and what advantages and disadvantages they promise for small and large businesses, it is worth taking into account all the influencing factors.

Thus, globalization on the one hand and personalization on the other can completely change a person's ideas about the world and business.

Along with the removal of spatial barriers, people become more lonely. The business is getting bigger, but can be managed by one person. Production is increasing, but the number of employees and stages is decreasing. There are a lot of ideas, but there are not so many really unique and original among them.

When looking for a relevant business, you should pay attention to such ideas:

Any idea that can be quickly implemented and will really be relevant to the needs of the target audience (taking into account its tastes and wishes, needs, the surrounding reality and the challenges that time throws) can be implemented in the format of a successful business.

In the West, especially in the USA, futurologists' books about the future are sold in millions of copies. Perhaps, curiosity and the desire to create something new allows Americans to dictate trends in the global business market.

In any case, on the territory of the countries of the post-Soviet space, interest is gradually awakening not only in the already familiar types of business, such as: shops, stalls and cafes.

Young enterprising people look into the future, trying to find a profitable niche and translate their enthusiasm into a promising field. Consider the most interesting business ideas of the future, which were proposed by Richard Watson, a futurist and business development consultant for major corporations.

The endless rise in real estate prices forces us to rent an apartment or sign a mortgage agreement for half our lives. Experts believe that in the future the collective purchase of housing will become very popular. Already today there is a trend to purchase country houses for two families.

It is quite difficult for a small entrepreneur to take advantage of this trend. But banks will soon begin to issue loans or arrange mortgages for two people at once.

Instant Insurance

Today, no one is surprised by insurance companies offering insurance for all occasions. However, there is still a development prospect in this business - instant insurance. For example, why not insure yourself before scuba diving in one of the exotic resorts or just before skydiving? How do you like this business idea of the future?

Every year, business life gradually flows into megacities. Soon, about 90% of the entire population of the planet will live in big cities, which means that villages and farms will no longer cover the demand of mankind for food.

However, people will always want to consume healthy quality food. In the pursuit of eco-production, the cultivation of vegetables and cereals will be established in every high-rise building. Multi-storey farms in metropolitan areas are not so far away.

Medical products

Food will cease to fulfill its usual role for us - a source of energy. Soon, a glass of water will cure migraines, and corn flakes for breakfast will cure stomach ulcers. Although this idea is far from being realized, today the teachings are actively working on its implementation. In this matter, the main thing is to follow the principle: "health first". After all, it is almost impossible to achieve such results without the use of chemical elements.

It is quite possible that very soon all the usual stores will be reformatted and occupy narrower niches. Have you ever wondered why pizzerias or sushi bars are so popular all over the world? The answer is obvious - a person knows in advance what product he is looking for.

In the US, such supermarkets appear more and more often. By the way, if you do not want to be the first in your city, study the ones we talked about earlier. Perhaps this is where your first million is hiding.

Online celebrity impersonation service

The owners of Internet services will help each of us transform into our favorite star: try on her outfits, hairstyles, accessories, and then purchase all this. Similar sites have existed in the West for a long time, our brother can only find the most successful ones and copy them. The opportunity to transform into a celebrity and pick up a recognizable look is quite easy to organize within the framework of one Internet project.

Current trends that will have an impact on brand communications with consumers

There is more and more information on the Internet and the outside world, the interaction of users with brands is getting shorter, and their requirements for communication tools are getting higher. Techniques and techniques that seemed new and interesting a year ago, today no longer cause their former delight, and some even annoy. In this regard, entrepreneurs and marketers are looking for new non-standard solutions. Punk You Brands agency shared its vision of trends that will have an impact on marketing in its corporate blog.

1. Mobile devices
become the dominant platform

Smartphones, tablets, smartwatches and other wearable gadgets (as well as glasses, lenses, microchips and all) will completely change and reshape the world of marketing. The more smart devices fill the world, the more personalized the relationship between the consumer and the seller becomes. And those companies that began to use this before others will develop this area and play a leading role in it.

2. Openness and customer focus -
key to a successful business

Consumers want to be more involved in the life of companies or brands. Closed and uncommunicative brands will not have a very bright future if they continue to adhere to such a policy of relationships with their customers. According to analysts, by 2020, consumers expect more "transparency" and openness from companies.

Sincere brands - especially those that are not afraid to admit their own mistakes - will be on a roll, as will companies that make social responsibility part of their culture. Openness and the ability to admit your mistakes help you form a close bond with your customers, and without that bond, it's harder to retain customers.

3. Content is the new currency

In the Internet environment, educational and entertainment content is one of the key ways to attract people. But from now on, content can be not only static (like texts or posters, say) - it can use new formats: virtual reality, video games, 3D, 4D. Such chips already exist on the Xbox and Oculus Rift platforms.

In the near future, technologies like HoloLens (virtual reality glasses) will become more widespread and completely change the very essence of presenting and creating content. This is one of the most disruptive areas of marketing where it will be possible to create a new standard of engaging content for consumers.

4. User-generated content will be more valuable

This means reviews, video reviews, and notorious blog posts about new products will become more important yardsticks than standard PR activities and boring advertising from actors hired to shoot commercials. Only a positive user experience will give the brand a good reputation. Therefore, such cooperation between brands and consumers will be beneficial to both parties.

They already look like new media, because more and more often in the news you can find such a wording - “the video has gained viral popularity in social networks around the world”; this shows how widespread they are around the world and what influence they have in modern society. With access to high-speed internet almost ubiquitous, social media content has already become more important than any other format, be it classic television or aging radio. That is why Vkontakte, Twitter, Facebook, Snapchat and Instagram are the future in content placement.

6. Brands will focus on their sites,
bypassing publications in the mainstream media

Companies will develop blogs on corporate websites, their own pages in social networks, create applications in which they will conduct a dialogue directly with consumers. It is due to this that so-called brand advocates and simply loyal customers will appear. After all, if the client is satisfied, he will only contribute to the success of the brand.

7. Companies that focus on Generation Z
will have an advantage

Generation Z, which will appear after the millennials, will be more demanding, and brands will need to try harder. In 2023, there will be a shift, and companies created by millennials (like Facebook and Instagram) will have to change dramatically to keep up with the new generation. Here, the usual change in marketing strategy will not do - generation Z will constantly demand something new, and it does not matter how much profit the company that owns the brand that is popular for them will have.

8. Products will become more important than services

While some companies are chasing loyal customers to serve as cash cows, others are focusing on product innovation and quality. What works well here and now is great, but it is the focus on the future that will help to last much longer. Entrepreneurs of the future must understand that customer satisfaction alone will not be enough - the true value for them will be innovative products and solutions.

9. Data-Backed Marketing
become the norm

The marketing of the future will focus on real data and insights that will help shape customer attitudes and trust. At the same time, marketing ploys that will push with quantity, but not quality, are unlikely to succeed. Brands that build a proper relationship around a good product and work for their target audience will be on horseback (unlike fly-by-night companies that are notorious for poor service and low-quality goods).

10. Metric will become more accurate

Currently, many companies measure their marketing success by the number of likes, shares and visit statistics. But programs and services for analyzing metrics are still in their infancy. In the future, analytics technologies will become more advanced, and this will help marketers better assess both cultural and emotional significance, as well as financial and investment prospects.

What to do with all this?

You should not fall into a fever now and frantically look for flaws in your marketing system. The future has not yet arrived :-) But it is already possible to prepare, and this is where it would make sense to start:

Look for new ways to interact. For example, mobile mailings via Wats'App (just don't say later that we taught you). Or maybe it's worth the trouble to create your own video game involving key products or services and throw it on social networks. For free. Customers will squeal with delight and share with friends. Or at least add a couple of new channels tailored for some special segment - Snapchat or Telegram, for example. And don't forget bloggers!

Think about innovation. Search, improve, modify. The best is the enemy of the good, but you can’t stand still, thinking that the service will fix everything. Spy on competitors, modify and implement your product and your technologies. This is where Carl Sewell's book Customers for Life comes in handy.

Recruit someone from Generation Z. Follow the course of his thoughts - suddenly he sees your product in a completely different way!
